Swellings, called buboes, are common symptoms of the Black Death. Buboes are just swellings of the lymph nodes, most commonly found in the neck, armpits, legs, and groin. Buboes would swell to enormous sizes, and would start out red. Then, they would turn dark purple and sometimes black. They would explode, spraying puss everywhere.

People that get the Black Death would face mental symptoms as well as some other physical symptoms. Victims of the Black Plague would have mental delirium, and they would see false images, and seem to go crazy, and they would also have a strong desire to sleep, which could, and usually would, lead to death.
